IMHO the two years of Connect Oregon grants have been excellent programs. Yes, the grants are funded by bonds that are paid for by Lottery Funds. I applaud our Governor for pushing this grant program and putting $$$ into our non-road infrastructure. A read of the awarded grants gives me an appreciation for the $$ that are hitting at our large backlog of infrastructure needs.
I find the conversation about the need for the Winchester Yard to be interesting and wonder where all this rail car traffic is now coming from that is blocking intersections in Roseburg. When the Siskiyou line was fully functioning and the Coos Bay line open, I understood the problem; now??
I am hopeful that we will have another round and see a Connect Oregon III.
