One of my friends down in Texas that went out to see UP 4014 got a chance to talk to and meet Ed Dickens during one of their stops. During their discussions he asked Ed if UP was looking at bringing UP 4014 out here to the Pacific Northwest and Ed stated “We are looking at and discussing options for a visit out there”. He also asked if there might be any chance to get the 4014 together with the SP 4449 somehow while out there and he stated “That would be neat if something could be worked out”. “All trips and opportunities for next year will be looked into in better detail after we get home.“ So for what it’s worth...maybe a visit to the Oregon Rail Heritage Center for 4014 could happen next year?? I really hope something like this will come together!!
