Back around 1995, I remember hearing a PBX conversation between an ATSF signal maintainer somewhere around Wasco and his boss in Fresno. By the time the maintainer got done describing what he had done that day since he had originally been called in to work, it was clear he had been on duty for about 15 hours straight. The brass told him to button up everything and go home - immediately.
