If you do not want 5'6" in Healdsburg better stop Bechtel gauge on Geary because if that goes thru($100bil measure passes) Bosco gauge and dwindling Northbay nimbys are no match whatsoever for the Party patronage machine and Bay Area Establishment juggernaut that is BART manifest destiny.
There is no freight potential of any consequence for the remaining vestige of the NWP, which IIRC was considered for abandonment by the SP already in the thirties. It sure looks with PSR that branch lines much more viable than the NWP will be sloughed off. IMHO take deep cost-cutting and profit-taking and add a major extended recession under a Warren regime the class 1's could end up in disarray with big mergers resulting.
