May have been visited by a FRA track inspector. While we all like to get by with minimum maintenance on lightly used track we can't have excepted track within 25 feet from a track operated at speeds above 10 mph (class I track) so a joint tie might have been necessary to pacify the inspector and bring it up to Class 1.
