No, it was for a coin. He was too cheap to use the one that he used for an oil line so it burned the brass area on the drivers.

Come to think of it, we had a lot of hogheads that screwed their socks on. One comes to mind in SLO was "Sanitary Jake". He worked the goat on the west end. Around meal time, the switch crew would go on spot and Jake would haul out his stuff to eat.

Now I never worked for him, but the fireman used to talk about his regard for health, etc. This was before the steamers went to the bone yard and you had plenty of heat to cook. (I know we had the diesel to set your meal on) but it took too long). Well, that is when Sanitary pulled out his food. He would have at least a pound of sliced bacon and he would start laying it out up on the back head to cook. He took his time and the RFE just shook his head.
