So now, "Ethyl" should we just assume that you're the same troll of many names, now posing as a "left wing" troll, posting this typical line of unadulterated horse crap, in order to stir the pot?
Hate it or love it, I'm more nuanced myself, fracking has saved us all a lot of money at the pump, and done more with cheap natural gas, to reduce CO2 emissions, than all of our other alternatives by several times over. And, fracking sand traffic and oil trains on a lot of RR's is a much bigger chunk of business.
Ethanol is, from my economic perspective, a communistic style state mandated wealth transfer from the many to the few... without any health or environmental benefits to air quality, that could not be met by much cheaper means. Which would be achieved at less cost to us consumers, by setting a "market neutral" allowable emissions standards, for health and air quality. And then, by allowing the competitive free market to work to meet it, and not by specifying "winners and losers" by this kind of "gubmint" mandate.
And, yep, these folks are representing their constituents, like they're supposed to. Maybe our freedom and well being would be better guaranteed, if we had no choice in the matter, say by a "wise" king, or a "benevolent" dictatorship...? It's not a perfect system, this messy system representative constitutional democracy, but as Winston Churchill once purportedly pointed out: "It's better than all of the rest..."
But, I like to hear about the ethanol trains, too... Just because I like trains....
