The photos Steve posted show another use for 40" well cars, with an " Ocean " 40' or 2 each 20' in the well, and a " Domestic Rail " 48' or 53' can on top. Some ports and Rail Intermodal yards don't have enough business for a separate train of each type container, so this works " well " for them.
