Good post. While I personally think all the candidates mentioned in the article except Yang and Bloomberg would be terrible presidents, I do agree that we need more investment in transit. More policy reforms to encourage housing and employment density and centered around transit. Shorten the environment review process to focus only on relevant issues for a project. More policing of transit to insure complete safety 24/7. Free service in central zones but with anti-loitering policies. 15 minute pulse service all day. Better bus and rail integration and gridded service. Regional systems and taxes for efficiency and thorough coverage. Roads are free, central city transit system are equivalent to the road grid once there is enough density to support transit grids.
