During his 2016 campaign, Trump said that he favored a modern intercity passenger rail network. There is no derangement syndrome in remembering that and hoping he would have kept that promise.
There is also no derangement syndrome in noting that elimination of long-distance trains would hurt the communities which supported Trump the most whereas those who live in urban areas of multiple transportation options.
