Meanwhile Amtrak's LD ridership counts amount to 1% of the U.S. population riding an Amtrak long distance train just one direction. Or, 0.5% of the population riding a round-trip.
If anything, I want to see a lot more cuts. Amtrak isn't even the tip of the iceberg...it's long down in a list of things the federal government should cut and not look back at. If it isn't in Article I Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution, it should be zeroed out. Sooner, rather than later. If you object, feel free to draft the 28th Amendment and get it ratified. There's no AmBus, AmBoat or AmAir, so why Amtrak?
