UP Rotary Snowplow 900075 at IRM

Just noticed this nice rotary snow plow restoration taking place.

"tender was built in 1924 for service with C&O #1542 (2-8-8-2 class H-7)."

And here is a 1973 photo. I assumed this was a diesel-electric snow plow, but stuff I find online says it is actually steam-powered, built in 1949. I wonder if it spent its career in Wyoming and Utah?
