Those RDCs in particular had endless mechanical issues while on the Lewis & Clark Explorer. Wallowa-Union ended up with them mainly through an asset transfer shell game within the State of Oregon government structure, I really don't know if they were ever used while in Elgin. I have heard WURR didn't want them in the first place but were more or less informed they were buying them. And INPR never did anything with them as they shut down their passenger excursions immediately after getting them on their property.

While there are a few RDCs still running out there, I don't know what kind of parts supply issues they might have. I'd be curious to hear from those who know or have experience in trying to keep any on the road right now.
