I think the original post here was speculation that Winterail would have a very light crowd? :-)
Anyway, I suspect that if Winterail was being held in Washington state instead of Oregon it probably would already have been cancelled. Here in King County they are asking people over 60 ( the main demographic of Winterail) not to go to any event that has over 10 people.
Also the mention of airlines being in trouble is dead on, just go to one of the airline websites where you can look at available seats for flights. I looked at Delta for Seattle-San Jose tomorrow (Monday) and the first 4 flights in the morning showed about 75% of the plane empty. On a route that gets a huge amount of business travel between tech centers that is a very telling indicator of how serious this will get for the airlines (and probably Amtrak short haul routes) in a hurry.
