It's widely accepted by historians that the Black Death hastened the end of Feudalism due to the reduction in population from between 1/3 and 1/2.
Suddenly laborers were valuable and a wage economy replaced one based on serfdom. Cities attracted workers and the seeds of the industrial revolution were planted.
