The North Platte Canteen

The WW II history was "institutional knowledge" in the UP and I remember reading that the removal was strongly protested. The setback from the double track main was more than adequate, so it wasn't a safety issue. One of us will measure it, next time in town. Further, the LCL end could have been trimmed off.

Let's reread Bob Greene's book, visit the county muesuem, and walk the brick platform and a few downtown streets. Before or after visiting the new tower to the West.

Please bear with me. I came close to being drafted and being on one of those trains. My myopia excused me from Korea in the late Forties.
