I was living in Sac around '93. I was trying to follow with as much interest possible what was to become of the SP Placerville branch. I believe there were two groups vying for control of the property. Add to this that a portion of line (ROW) had been borrowed for the LRT to Folsom. Formal abandonment was not happening at any breakneck rate. Somehow the state or county just showed up and bulldozed Missouri Flat Rd crossing into oblivion. The intact crossing signals with gates and crossbucks were twisted into a mass of wreckage along with the rubberized crossing deck and rails. It seems "someone" had gotten the impression the branch had been abandoned. This was about the last I heard. Anyone want to fill in the rest? As I understand it, the line ends short of Missouri Flat Rd.
