Steamtown had an Angel in Congress ( I can't remember who at the moment ) who shepherded the funding bill through various committees. Also some Brownfield Redevelopment funds as I recall. Steamtown also had more to work with, as the Lackawanna RR shops were mostly intact with some revisions for Chamberlain's work in manufacturing artillery shells in the main Erecting Shop.
Moving Nelson Blount's collection was necessary, and smart as well, with Scranton much closer to the HUGE NorthEast population than Bellows Falls, VT.
I don't see the same interest from Washington State's Federal delegation in the wake of Covid 19; much different priorities nowadays than Choo - Choo's. I fear for Amtrak's future as well; The Powers That Be have already cheapened the dining cars on all Western Trains.
