There was/is a pipeline that follows the SP ROW through downtown Pleasanton. East of Pleasanton it follows the former San Ramon Branch all the way to (?). I believe that Alameda County had title to or at least some control over the former SP ROW through Pleasanton. All this may have changed but I believe the pipeline is still active-in fact I think it feeds the San Jose Airport.
