Two weeks ago, No.7 left Spokane with a bad horn on the lead unit. After stopping at Lyons to think it over, and realizing the second unit wasn't equipped with a radio good enough for lead status, they put the conductor in the second unit and had him blow the horn as the engineer called out the crossings. Kept them from having to stop and proceed at each crossing.
