You mean the FRA 15 year/1472 day limit on steam loco boilers?

Rumors there might be an extension if the locos stayed parked, but I haven't heard of anyone getting one yet. The 1472 limit is based on days the boiler is fired which is unlikely to change, so the only extension would likely be against the 15 year limit which would only apply to a FRA steam loco used an average of less than 98 days per year - of which quite a few come to mind.
