This easy project is by the same people that can't finish the regional connector project.

Once approved, the Federal Transit Administration will consider issuing a record of decision for the project.

Then, LA Metro would seek to hire a contractor to build the line, and to begin property acquisitions and utility relocation in 2021.

The project is scheduled to begin construction in 2022 and could be built in phases depending on available funding, LA Metro officials said in a press release.

The project is anticipated to open in 2028.

The project includes 14 light-rail stations between the Van Nuys G Line Station and Sylmar/San Fernando Metrolink Station.

The line would provide transfers between LA Metro, Metrolink and Amtrak lines in the San Fernando Valley, California.
