Jerks like some of the posters on here continue to ensure the slow decline of the rail preservation/tourism/railfan hobby. A few diehards will always be around but the vast majority of semi-interested folks see or hear that kind of crap and immediately tune out.


There's another name for those semi-interested people: potential rail-trail users. By all means keep alienating them, then adopt abusive names for them when they mysteriously prefer trails on old R.O.W. versus tourist rail traffic.

It's not rocket science--don't bite a hand that potentially feeds your passion or interest.
