Boardman Oregon Coal Plant shutting down

I guess yesterday the official word was handed down to the effect of the Boardman coal plant being shuttered. I'm not a fan for polluting the hillsides with thousands of wind turbines. (I'm also still leary about all the damn SUBSIDIES this wind turbine industry is getting, but that's another story) The point I want to bring around is a matter of protection. In a hypothetical emphasis, if I'm paying $3 per kilowatt hour, there's NOTHING to stop a power company to sell the same power to anybody willing to pay more. Should we suffer with brown outs or black outs in the future, just remember the stupidity being displayed today.
