A rose by any other color and all that sh..er...stuff. A coat of Amtrak paint doesn't change the fact that they are still SP FP7's, any more than a coat of cheap paint made #6304 a WP or SP unit. Most of the SP FP's ran thru 1976 for Amtrak and two (although renumbered twice) lasted until 1979 to provide steam for the Fun Train. Had it not been for that, they probably would have been gone a lot sooner.
