Um, Obama was from Chicago. It's only been four years since he's been in office.

If you are talking about aspirants, then you only have to go back a year to remember the following who are not from the East Coast:

Pete Buttitieg - Indiana
Steve Bullock - Montana
John Hickenlooper - Colorado
Jay Inslee - Washington
Amy Klobuchar - Minnesota
Kamala Harris - California
Julian Castro - Texas

This is not even a complete list
