E9A & B on the "San Joaquin" May 1974

Amtrak E9 #426 (ex-UP #952A)has headed down the SP's Moccoco line and heading for Port Chicago and going onto the Santa Fe. E-units provided the power for the "San Joaquin" but dislike for them at the SP West Oakland shops resulted in the being replaced by ex-SP FP7's after only a few weeks.
