Since your use predated the movie, you probably could have argued the point. There was a department store here in Oroville (ca) called, "City of Paris"--their flag sign is still on the building as a landmark. The San Francisco based City of Paris tried to get them to change their name & cease and desist, but they were in business first and argued that maybe the SF store should change, but that they weren't going to force the issue, so the Oroville store stayed until they closed in the 1990s after the big chain stores built in town (all of those are gone now too, thanks to Wal-Mart).
