As an aside regarding locomotives starting fires:

A few years ago I was standing in my driveway across the street from the CW line in Davenport, WA watching the train go by when the dry grass in my neighbor's backyard adjacent to the tracks burst into flame! There was no one home at their house at the time, so I yelled for my wife to call 911 about the fire, and than ran over and grabbed their hose. I had the fire mostly out before the firetrucks got there.
As soon as the train had passed a high rail truck with water tank and pump came along behind the train. They sprayed a bit more water about, hollered a "Thanks", and then followed the train down the tracks.
