Amtrak faces a very tough uphill battle with Class 1's. The courts have been dealing blows to Amtrak for something like the last 12 years...and they're still fighting. Amtrak can't even get a on time performance metrics standard without the courts fighting them.

Here's the real mess and after reading thru all that it's no wonder why Amtrak is losing...
