Goober once had a mayor of a good sized city, in complaining about horn blowing at grade crossings / switching at night, say they following: "You guys take this safety stuff way too seriously. I don't care if some idiot gets killed by a train, as long as I can get some sleep."

A community board president in one of the largest US cities used to push Goober on his grand idea of installing mufflers on diesel locomotives. This same genius once accused a state transportation agency of "only caring about profits". Now that was funny.
