On monday Jan 26 California Northern moved a 100 plus car train up the West Valley to Wyo, just north of Orland. This train ran out on to the Hamilton City branch for storage. This brings the total number UP covered grain hoppers to over 250 cars. The first 100 cars are stored south of Hamilton City all the wayto the very end of track about a mile south of the Holly Sugar plant. There has not been a rail car this far south since Southern Pacific pulled the track up to Ord Bend in the 1970s. One car had build date of Oct 2008-sign of the times.
