I guess that is is good that there's a billion proposed for amorphous "Olympics" projects, now that all of the predictions about the CAHSRA funding running out, before they can finish the present work, are turning out to be true...
And, the Caltrain electrification has already had to be "back-filled" once with "stimulus".... So, as usual I'm "shocked"...
With the new departures of senior management once again from the CAHSRA fiasco, the expectation that they will run completely out of money, without completing the project (eliminating dobule tracking has been propsed as a cut to "save" money....)from Wasco to Chowchilla, appear to be more and more likely... Yet, they still continue to piss away millions on these insane EIS's, and are trying to buy equipment? It's time to see resignations from the CAHSRA Board that continues to enable and excuse the utter waste and incompetence.
The only thing I want to see, is MTA getting this line item of the budget surplus, to be able issue the contracts on the US Link project (LAUS Runthrough project), so we can have a first world improvement that saves significant operator train costs, and cuts unnecessary extra travel times for 50,000 daily "real" rail users by ten minutes each.
