AFT 2.0 says a big thank you for the generous support provided by Amazon, Home Depot, Starbucks and Google that made this project possible!
Really though, the 1949 AFT was not "steam".
"Steam" was a big part of the "pull" (besides what it was pulling) of the 1970s AFT.
With the rails that have passed that made the thing "turn a wheel" in the first place, what possible reason would the "modern industry" underwrite the AFT 2.0 on their tracks!? ...and for what return???
Just look at what happens when the yellow steamer comes out.
Maybe a "West Coast" AFT 2 1/2 from Yakima to Nogales (pick any two points you want) would be possible with Truman foundation support ?
I look around at the current state of the industry, hobby and public and it does not give me high hope.
