Thanks, Steven... and yes, there were a group of GEVOs over on the team track in the wye too. I'm used to seeing GP60Ms and Dash 8-40BWs there the last couple years. Prior to the Alameda Corridor, I do recall lots of the latest power there (at that time Dash 9-44CWs).

As to safety... I may be completely nuts, but that area feels safer to me now than it did ten/fifteen years ago. I remember going there once in the early 1990s and vowing never to return for all the gang-type guys and homeless I saw. For sure, I wouldn't have gotten out of my car and climbed up to the top of the PCH overpass. It's still a struggling neighborhood today, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't feel as bad as it did then.
