I don't care how much knowledge a person has (or thinks he has), it's no reason to be a complete arse 75% the time, which Jack is on these boards. You'll get one semi "congenial" post followed by three "I know more than you" putdown comments.
Ever hear or see Mr. Krieger treat ANYONE with such disrespect? Of course not...
The irony? Jack's reputation for being a jerk will long outlive his contributions to the hobby. Twenty years from nobody will care who fired on this or that UP steam run, but every single person he's ripped--on the internet or on excursions--is one more person who's less likely to buy tickets, volunteer again, etc.
How many freaking railroad historical societies and NRHS chapters have to fold due to lack of interest before you "standard bearers" figure that out?
