To what end? Why would every passenger keep track of on-time performance? Some would prefer spending their time chatting with their traveling companions. Others may want to strike up new romances and see where things go. Others would want to enjoy the scenery along Puget Sound, in the Cascades, through Glacier National Park and along the Mississippi River. A few others are content to watch BNSF and Canadian Pacific freight trains and not worry about whether Train 8 will stop in Havre, Montana at its scheduled 1:02 pm arrival time.
Although some travelers are interested/anxious about on-time performance, this information can be obtained on mobile phones. For the few travelers who do not have mobile phones and who have Amtrak on-time performance anxiety, the paper timetables would be helpful.
Specific to the Empire Builder, Canadian Pacific and BNSF were given "A" ratings in Amtrak's 2020 report card on host railroads.
