The first photo is one of LVT city-suburban cars in the 900 series.
The second photo is one of the former Cincinnati and Lake Erie "Red @#$%&" cars. They were built in 1930 by Cincinnati Car Company. As built they had a top speed of about 80 mph. They were very advanced technically. They represent the last gasp of the interurban industry to compete with automobiles. Numbers on Lehigh Valley were 1000-1008 and 1020-1023. They were purchased by Lehigh Valley in 1939 after C&LE had abandoned interurban service in 1938. The bodies were modified by LV. They received a second front entrance door on the left side and an emergency exit in the middle of the rear. LVT rail passenger service ended in 1951. Most of the 1000 series cars were scrapped in 1952.
