In the 1960's the West Covian Brotherhood of Model Railroaders had half of the upstairs of a half block long 1900's brick retail building, that had been a rooming house, across the street from the San Dimas ATSF Station (soon to be Gold Line), with a back stair case and back balcony that overlooked the 2nd District.

The San Dimas layout had a huge mountain climb and a giat bridge you walked under when you entered from the adjacent club and shop rooms, the had that bridge at the new layout.

And, in the 90's, the West Covian Club had a view of where we used to work on Jim Christiansen's business car, ATSF 1507 (IIRC), in the old Pomona team track he rented. This was the same ATSF business car that had hosted the infamous Monrovia Model Railroad Club fan trip behind Number 7 to Barstow depot, and back on the Grand Canyon, in 1967(?), in the famous photo on that "other train site" ot the train at San Berdo.

A few of those folks Bill, Stan, Gary, and a handful of others were members of both crews, back then. Also, some of the same folks with Bill and Stan cutting stacking wood for Rogue River Number One out i Alta Loma on the old spur up to the Opeechee winery, above Base Line.... All good times...,

A lot of good rails came out of these crews, too. Ray Suggs was another member who went to work for the SP. And, we all wore Chromer caps...

Real choo-choo's going by, like at the Pasadena Club, are a must....
