In the 70s, I was able to get slides back the next day to the camera shop I patronized in Santa Rosa. When I last used Kodachrome in 2006-07, it took two weeks to get back from that lab in Kansas (and once took a year). I now use Fuji and get it processed locally, but I suppose that won't last too much longer. I never saw the Page Mill facility, but it was certainly an icon from those days.
