There are missile silos all over that area. There is one SW of Denton on the road from Stanford which appears to be a remote not maned silo and one SE of Denton. I have not been close to the SE one so I don't know if it manned or not. The non maned ones have very little above ground except the security fence and some Antenna. It looks like the Airforce keeps the weeds down in and around the sites.
