On Sunday March 1st the San Bernardino History & Railroad Museum will host a book signing event at the Santa Fe San Bernardino Depot, 10am to 2pm. Railroad Authors Greg McDonnell, Elrond Lawrence and Ed Saalig will be on hand with many local history authors to sign and sell their books.

Greg McDonnell is going to feature his latest book Locomotives: The Modern Diesel Electric Reference, published by Boston Mills Press. Greg McDonnell has previously authored The Field Guide to Modern Diesel Locomotives, out of print from Kalmbach. Boston Mills Press published Greg's titles Wheat Kings, Signatures in Steel, Heartland, U-Boats: General Electric's Diesel Locomotives, Lake Boats and Passing Trains. Greg is a regular columnist and contributor to Trains Magazine and has presented wonderful slide shows at Winterail, twice.

Elrond Lawrence is going to feature his new book Route 66 Railway about the "Mother Road" and the parallel Santa Fe Railway. Railroad author, former Pacific Rail News Editor, and photographer Elrond claims Route 66 Icon, San Bernardino as his hometown. Elrond's photography will also be featured at Winterail 2009.

Ed Saalig will be featuring his new book; The Amazing Journey of Santa Fe RDC Cars, published by Pacific Railroad Society. This book covers the Santa Fe's pair of RDC cars from their construction, service on the old Santa Fe Fourth District, infamous Redondo Jct wreck, their rebuilding, and subsequent service.

Come out and see the restored Santa Fe San Bernardino Depot, visit the new San Bernardino History & Railroad Museum, and watch the action on three BNSF main tracks out front.
