Yes. It's been known that cars come off at Sparks. In on 6, back out on 5. 'Bout 5 years ago, I boarded 6 with my CSRM volunteer partner at Sacramento and we had 3 private cars on the back. Short Lines convention overnighting in Sparks/Reno. In the morning, back they came. If you got money to spend, there will always be an open hand somewhere....
