On October 1st of 2005, the Grand Canyon Railway operated an excursion from Williams to the Grand Canyon using 2-8-0 #29 and 2-8-2 #4960, four ex-SP "subs" and some freight cars. A recently restored ATSF caboose was also used. Operated on short notice and not well advertised, there were only about 50 people on the train. Although bad for the railroad, the few number of people resulted in the ability to do several runbys, some staged several times.

I didn't know at the time that this would be my last time to see the GCRy as a steam operation. Here are some shots from that trip. I can post more later if you like.
