Tom, I think 29 would be a good locomotive where ever it winds up in the years to come. For the size there you have a lot of power. While 40 mph was pushing either 18 or 29, the 3% is where they shine. I can only imagine firing in the winter months with steam heat going and the demands of the running gear at 40 mph. Apparently there are videos of 29 in the shop with the train behind them and the firebox is glowing due to the demands of the steam heat at 20 below. They left 29 on the train all night to keep it from freezing. The locomotives deserve more credit than many people give them.
