I rode the North Coast Hiawatha in August '71 when the Amtrak paint was (mostly) still in the can, the BN less than 18 months old and the Sky Blue no more than 4 years old. I always thought the blue and clean white looked very good with the clean green and white. The NP two-tone didn't hurt either. After many years staring at Cascade Green everything I got a bit tired of it but always fondly remembered the passenger scheme.
