Hirschdale is reached from the Boca Dam/Hirschdale exit off of I-80 East of Truckee I am not sure of the exact milepost (my timetable is in my pick up) but I think it is about 219 or 220.

That is definitly #6. I had chased it over "the Hill" from at least Colfax. Although it is not as common now as under the SP, but that section was left hand running and the train is on the #2 Eastward main track. A few years back, the smart Ewe Pee guys in Omahaha decided to reverse the numbers and make the right hand track going West #1 instead of #2.
