HO is by far the most popular model train scale, with the most EVERYTHING available. The details on locomotives, rolling stock, and even autos and scenery have reached contest - quality, though with much higher prices than ever before. Try WALTHERS.COM and scroll through their HO Scale offerings.
The " biggest " advantage to N Scale is the smaller size ( 1/160th scale as opposed to HO at 1 / 87th scale ), which allows for more train stuff in a smaller space. Some details available in the larger scales can be lacking, though it might not be missed -- due to the smaller size !!! Unfortunately N Scale train prices are at or above HO Scale these days.
