Only on the SP's Pacific Lines.

Correct. Leaving El Paso, you are now on SP's former Texas & New Orleans. Between New Orleans (Avondale) and El Paso, mileposts are numbered from east to west.

For example, El Paso Union Depot has two milepost locations: 829.3 from the east and 1295.9 from the west.
