Those of us who don't feel a need to lay off every weekend and thus get stuck working every weekend would like the railroad and UNION to do something about it. You just get on your phone and look at the board and you know who is going to ALWAYS mark off, usually at the last minute if it looks like they might have to work. Too many guarantee trolls who hang on the board hoping to not get called so they can draw their guarantee pay but if it looks like they might get called off they go. When I trained, every day they would remind us that this is a 24-7 operation that works holidays and if you are not up for that you should go elsewhere. Too many people didn't believe them or listen. It's hard work with crappy hours made worse by too many people that have to constantly lay off. Wouldn't be as much of a problem if everybody pulled their weight.
